Junior High (Grades 7 -8) Print E-mail
Junior High students are our passion! We are a relational ministry dedicated to loving God and students. We want to reach out and connect students with peers and leaders, helping them to grow in their faith and give them opportunities to serve their community and world.
  • During the school year we have Discipleship Confirmation (DC).
  • We encourage students to worship each weekend with their families and try our new Sunday option, Square 1.
  • Consider joining us at future events, perhaps Summer or Winter Camp!

We encourage students to worship with their parents each weekend. Square 1 is an option for Jr. High to  attend. Here's how it works:

The first Sunday of the month, Jr. Highers will attend one of the regular worship services with their families. The other Sundays, students will join one of the 10:45 a.m. services for worship, then be excused to come down to Carlson Hall for Square 1. During our time together we will focus on creative biblical teaching and relevant applications, so that students can grow in their relationship with Christ and with others. EVENTS

ACTS is on Saturday, December 6.  Come join the ACTS ministry for different service opportunities.  Meet in room 303 on the North Campus at 10 am.  We will finish by noon, back in room 303.  You might deliver groceries and pray with people in Harbor Hills, visit and sing with the elderly in a convalescent home or pass out sack lunches in Harbor Park.  This counts as a confirmation service project.

Service Day Saturday, is also on December 6.  Meet in Carlson Hall at 1:00 pm.  We will go to different Voyagers' homes to help them get ready for Christmas.  Cost is $3 (to provide a gift to the homes we visit).  We finish at 4.  This counts as a confirmation service project.

D/C Christmas Celebration  is Wednesday, December 17th.  Meet in the 290's from 6-7:45 for a unique and intimate Christmas celebration.  We will not meet in small groups tonight.

CAMPS

Each year we offer two camps at Alpine Camp and Conference Center, a summer and a winter camp. The camps are a time to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and to get closer to God.  They are amazing times that students remember for years to come.

Winter Camp is coming up February 20-22.  More information as the date approaches.

HANGOUT NIGHT IS ON OR AROUND WEDNESDAY, NOV. 19TH! GROUPS, HAVE FUN!!!

NO DC ON NOV. 26TH DUE TO THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY

The DC ministry lies at the heart of what we do. DC stands for Discipleship Confirmation. There are two parts to DC:

"Discipleship"  is the main component. These are small groups of Jr. High students, who are divided by both grade and gender. The small groups are a chance for Jr. High students to talk about the questions, comments and concerns of their life in a safe environment. The DC groups meet every Wednesday night from 6-7:45.

Typically all the Jr. High students will meet together assigned by grade in one big group for the first 30-40 minutes. Then they move to their rooms and either talk about what was discussed in the big group or about the issues going on in their life.

The "Confirmation" component consists of 3 things:
  1. Be involved in the small groups.
  2. Choose and meet with a mentor.
  3. Life experiences, meaning service projects, conferences, and in 8th grade, a spiritual retreat.
