A Brief Overview Print E-mail
In 1956 two separate groups of Christians – a group of young couples in Torrance and another group from a small Covenant Church in San Pedro -- were praying about establishing a church in the South Bay. God soon brought them together, and they embarked on a journey to form Rolling Hills Covenant Church. April 14, 1957 was the first organizational date for the church of 52 members.  We celebrated our 50-year anniversary during the first weekend of May 2007.

Several hallmarks have characterized Rolling Hills Covenant Church throughout its 50-year history:
  • A reliance on the Bible as God’s Word,
  • An external focus to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our local community and throughout the world.  Since our first missionaries were commissioned to serve in Honduras in 1962, the church has had a missions presence in more than 75 countries worldwide;
  • A priority for cultivating the spiritual development of our children in fun, age-appropriate activities;
  • A love for worship that is reflected in music, drama, and the arts, which today culminate in our annual performance of Pageant of the Lord
