Junior High
Junior High students are our passion! We are a relational ministry dedicated to loving God and students. We want to reach out and connect students with peers and leaders, helping them to grow in their faith and giving them opportunities to serve their community and world.
  • During the school year we have Discipleship Confirmation (DC).
  • We encourage students to worship each weekend with their families and try our new Sunday option, Square 1.
  • Consider joining us at future events, perhaps Summer or Winter Camp!

DC: Discipleship/Confirmation

The DC ministry lies at the heart of what we do. DC stands for Discipleship Confirmation. There are two parts to DC:

"Discipleship"  is the main component. These are small groups of Jr. High students, who are divided by both grade and gender. The small groups are a chance for Jr. High students to talk about the questions, comments and concerns of their life in a safe environment. The DC groups meet every Wednesday night from 6-7:45.

Typically all the Jr. High students will meet together assigned by grade in one big group for 30-40 minutes. Then they move to their rooms and either talk about what was discussed in the big group or about the issues going on in their life.

The "Confirmation" component consists of 3 things:
  1. Be involved in the small groups.
  2. Choose and meet with a mentor.
  3. Life experiences, meaning service projects, conferences, and in 8th grade, a spiritual retreat.

Look for D/C sign ups beginning in late August.

We encourage students to worship with their parents each weekend. Square 1 is an option for Jr. High to  attend. Here's how it works:

One Sunday of the month, Jr. Highers will attend one of the regular worship services with their families. The other Sundays, students will come down to Carlson Hall for Square 1 during the 10:45 service. During our time together we will focus on creative biblical teaching and relevant applications, so that students can grow in their relationship with Christ and with others. CAMPS

Each year we offer two camps at Alpine Camp and Conference Center, a summer and a winter camp. The camps are a time to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and to get closer to God.  They are amazing times that students remember for years to come.

Summer Camp, August 1 - 6, 2010 at Alpine.
Come for a fun-filled week exploring God's truth inthe beautiful mountains. There's plenty of recreation to fill the down time and an opportunity to meet new friends. Cost: $340. Pick up a brochure in Square 1 for more details.
