PASS THE BATON

One generation shall commend your works to another and shall declare your mighty acts. - Psalm 145:4

Pass the Baton of faith

Thank you for your interest in serving in RHCC Kids. Every year, we ask for people with a willing heart to sign up to serve in RHCC Kids Ministries. The theme we chose this year is Pass the Baton! Can you imagine runners in a relay race as they pass the baton to the one behind them? How exciting when it is passed successfully and the runner advances forward to win the race. So it is with the family of God, the older generation passing on their faith in Christ to the younger generation. We want to invite you to pass the baton to this next generation this year in RHCC Kids Ministries. It's up to us to Pass the Baton of faith to the next generation. The world that our children are growing up in is difficult and they are facing pressures like never before. We need to show them there is something different than what they see on TV or what they hear from others around them. We need to show them Jesus!

FAQs

What if I have a vacation planned?
We have substitutes available if you are unable to serve for any reason. But we do ask that you let us know as soon as you can so we have time to schedule them.
I don't have experience working with kids. Can I still serve?
The only requirement you need to volunteer in RHCC Kids is a love for Jesus and a desire to help our kids learn about Him. We will provide training to ensure you are equipped to serve. You will also be serving with a team of people, so you don't have to do it alone.
How long/often do I need to serve?
Unlike other serve teams, we have specific start and end dates for our volunteer commitments. You can serve over the summer months (June-August), during the school year (September-May), and we have many volunteers who choose to serve year round.

While most of our spots require you to serve every Sunday, we also have some where you can serve every other week. You can also sign up to be a substitute.
Do I have to teach?
Our volunteers rotate who teaches every week. We also have positions that don't require you to teach at all.
Do I have to write the lesson or prepare the crafts?
Every week, you'll get an email from our team detailing everything planned for class that week, including the lesson, songs, crafts, and other important details. We ask that you review the lesson plan to prepare for the area you are responsible for that week.

Our RHCC Kids team prepares all the items needed for the crafts each week. You get to do the fun part of helping the kids assemble them!
Why do I need to do a LiveScan fingerprint check?
The safety of our kids is our highest priority. We know many of our volunteers have served in RHCC Kids for years and we love you and your dedication to our church. However, California Assembly Bill AB506 requires all staff and volunteers working with children to undergo a LiveScan fingerprint check.
